When Did ITIL Start ?
ITIL, which stands for Information Technology Infrastructure Library, was first developed in the 1980s by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA), a part of the British Government. The initial version of ITIL was published in the late 1980s as a set of books that provided best practices for IT service management.
Since then, ITIL has evolved through various versions and updates, with the latest version as of my last update in September 2021 being ITIL 4, released in 2019. It has become one of the most widely adopted frameworks for IT service management worldwide.
